"Cats are the ultimate narcissists. You can tell this by all the time they spend on personal grooming. Dogs aren't like this. A dog's idea of personal grooming is to roll in dead fish." - James Gorman, American entrepreneur. SO ARE YOU A CAT OR A DOG? One could be unkind and suggest that women are cats and men are dogs, as women pay more attention to personal grooming. However, this is no longer the case. Today's business men and women know that physical appearance is the first impression people have of who we are. Choosing to ignore common personal grooming habits may indicate to those around you that you are not detail oriented; that you do not take pride in your work because you do not take pride in your personal appearance; or that you are not someone who wants to be taken seriously. Personal grooming - also referred to as personal hygiene - is the act of taking care of your body through cleanliness and self care. To put your best foot forward, both men and women should have a personal grooming kit that they can use "on the run" if necessary. Here is what your kits should include: For Women: Anti perspirant; dry shampoo for hair; make up; brush or comb; tweezers; nail file and emery board; sewing kit; spare pair of pantyhose; toothbrush and small tube of toothpaste; breath freshener spray. For Men: Anti perspirant; a clothes brush; hair brush or comb; nail clippers and nail scissors; tweezers; toothbrush and small tube of toothpaste; breath freshener spray. When it comes to personal grooming, always choose to be a cat!
