WHY USE AN IMAGE CONSULTANT?

When I tell people what I do for a living, this is the question I am most often asked. My answer is simple - "Because how you look is how you feel".

There is nothing vain about wanting to look your best. When you look good, this reflects on your mood and confidence levels. If you are happy with the way you look, you radiate self confidence and people around you pick up on your positive energy. This leads to them acting and reacting  towards you in a more positive manner.

Try it for yourself sometime. Go to an upmarket store dressed in slops and shorts and note how the store assistants behave towards you. Then go back to the same store dressed in your absolute best and notice how differently you are treated.

Whether we like it or not, first impressions count.  Popular research shows that we form opinions about a person in just a 100-millisecond glance! So obviously you want your first impression to be a good one. You need to dress as if you have respect for yourself. If you dress as if you just don't care, then this will come across to other people and they will treat you likewise.

Often, we don't think about how our image reflects on us as people. We think we more or less know what suits us and so we get into a style rut that is comfortable and occasionally boring. We forget to make an effort - and that's when the rot sets in.
